MANITOBA DIVISION

Shipping Incentive Program 2024/ 2025


The CTHS MB Division is renewing the Shipping Incentive Program effective immediately until further notice with a few revisions.


The objective of the program is to increase the foal and stallion population.


The CTHS MB Division will pay a maximum of $2,000.00 to ship-in a mare in foal and/or a stallion. The following conditions have to be met:

  • mare in foal and/or stallion must be purchased through a bonafide sale and/or private sale as long as there is a bill of sale issued
  • leased stallions are also eligible if there is a completed Stallion Lease Agreement
  • the mare must be purchased for breeding purposes only - not racing and we will require the applicant's signature on a CTHS MB document stating same
  • includes open mares for breeding purposes
  • mare be bred confirmation from the stallion owner
  • applicant must be a member of the CTHS MB Division
  • shipping fees must be supported by a Bill of Sale and transfer of ownership
  • provide a shipping fee invoice
  • payment will be in Canadian funds
  • purchaser is responsible for paying the shipper and then presenting the paid invoice to the CTHS MB office for the refund
  • this incentive program will be capped at $24,000.00.


The CTHS Board will review this incentive program monthly and adjustments may be made accordingly.

You could be eligible to receive  up to $4,000.00 in cash back by having an eligible mare to foal in 2025! The 2025 Program details and application form are listed under the FORMS tab. 

2024 Sire Stake Program


January 31, 2024 - $300 Stallions must be nominated to the Manitoba Sire Program - for foals of 2025 conceived as a result of matings in 2024.

Late Nominations for Manitoba-breds



All the CTHS nominated stake races can be supplemented if nominations have not been made or have been missed.

Non nominated Manitoba-bred 2 year old horses may be made eligible to the Buffalo Stakes by paying 1% of the purse plus all missed nominations fees to the CTHS office by the third Tuesday in May or 10% of the purse at time of entry to the race office, in addition to enter and start fees.


Non nominated Manitoba-bred 3 year old horses may be made eligible to the J.W. Sifton (colts/geldings) and the R.C. Anderson (fillies) by paying 1% of the purse plus all missed nomination fees to the CTHS office by the third Tuesday in May or 10% of the purse at time of entry to the race office, in addition to enter and start fees.


Non nominated 3 year old horses may be made eligible to the Frank Arnason Sire Stake and the Hazel Wright Sire Stake by paying 1% of the purse plus all missed nomination fees to the CTHS office by the third Tuesday of May or 10% of the purse at time of entry to the race office, in addition to enter and start fees. Horses must be sired by registered Manitoba stallions.

FINAL NOMINATIONS FOR THE BUFFALO STAKES, J. W. SIFTON STAKES AND R.C. ANDERSON STAKES ARE DUE TUESDAY, MAY 21, 2024.


NON-NOMINATED HORSES MAY BE MADE ELIGIBLE TO THE 2024 BUFFALO STAKES, J. W. SIFTON STAKES AND R. C. ANDERSON STAKES, BY PAYMENT TO THE CTHS OFFICE (PHONE THE CTHS OFFICE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR PAYMENT).
